A beverage with a contentious and misunderstood cultural history, the Snakebite is a beer and cider cocktail (much like a Half and Half) first popularized in the UK in the early 1980's. The beverage was particularly popular among young punks and in certain parts of the UK, and a technicality was sometimes used to refuse service of a favored drink to unfavored clientele.
Despite a certain lingering confusion around its origins and legality, the Snakebite is a pour particularly well suited to warm weather and moments of indecision. Eric will have a few examples on the Tasting Bar this Thursday, July 18 from 4-7pm. Stop in, enjoy the aggressive air conditioning, and taste delightful little bit of beverage history!
