Spain, Beyond Rioja

Like most Mediterranean countries, Spain has been home to winemaking since before Rome had an empire. And despite the trials of the intervening millennia, today the country is home to a multitude of winemaking styles and traditions as varied as the country's landscape and climate. However, in the post-Franco recovery of the Spanish wine industry one region in particular has stood out from the rest as a sort of standard-bearer of Spanish wine. And with good reason: the wines of Rioja are brilliant.

But we don't want to talk about Rioja right now. Honestly, it speaks for itself at this point. We want to explore Spanish wine beyond Rioja with a look at some of those regions, varietals, and styles that don't get quite as much attention as they deserve. It would be impossible to capture the full range of Spanish wine in one tasting, so for the time being we're going to stick with a handful of white wines that highlight styles and regions less known and explored.

Join us at the tasting bar on Wednesday, July 30 from 4pm-7pm for an exploration of Spanish wines beyond Rioja!

Tickets for our regular Wednesday tastings are $10, and the wines in the lineup are all 10% off during the tasting.
