Six White Wines Worth Knowing for Spring

Whether it's a volcanic island in Italy or tiny pocket in Spain, there are so many regions that offer a unique array of flavors from grapes that grow few other places in the world. We offer six white wines worth knowing for spring, highlighting some of the lesser known places that offer exceptional wines. Some of these regions, such as Sicily, are better known for their reds, but the tiny amount of white wines that do leave the country carry the mineral-driven character of volcanic soil. The Loire Valley may be well known for its white wines, but the number of appellations and villages can be challenging to navigate. Lesser known places, such as Slovenia and Greece, have winemakers working to show what their specific vineyards can do. There are some glaring omissions, but we are delighted to share these six wines.
