Nebbiolo vs. Sangiovese

Italy is home to over 350 officially recognized grape varietals (out of thousands), but there are two that rise above all the rest in reputation and prestige. Nebbiolo and Sangiovese, the primary grapes of Piedmont and Tuscany, respectively, are the source of most of Italy's most famous wines: Barolo, Barbaresco, Chianti, Brunello, etc. They are also planted widely throughout other regions of Italy, though frequently under different names, depending on local traditions.

This week, we're trying to understand these varietals a little better, to get a sense of the typical flavor profile of each and how that can change from place to place. This will also be a chance to compare the two and decide which is your favorite! So join us this Wednesday, November 13 from 4pm to 7pm to taste some excellent examples of each varietal and judge for yourself!

Tickets for our Wednesday tastings are $15, and the wines are 10% off during the tasting.
