We are delighted to be hosting founder and winemaker John Lockwood of Enfield Wine Co. at the tasting bar on Sunday, October 26!
John grew up in DC, but the various twists and turns of life brought him eventually to California and a passion for winemaking. He started Enfield as a side project in 2010, while working for someone else, before striking out on his own in 2013 to make it his full-time job. Since then, it has become a family project with his wife Amy. John and Amy are dedicated to producing wines of personality, driven by the belief that "the very best wines tell a unique story." For them, that story starts with the soil, and they seek out vineyards that possess a "distinct and powerful sense of place." They work only with small vineyards and independent growers, and every step of their winemaking process is intended to maximize the character of the terroir. This commitment to letting the wine tell its own story has borne fruit in the form of widespread attention in the national press, but as you might expect, the wines speak for themselves, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to share them with you!
John will be at the tasting bar from 1pm to 4pm, pouring a selection of his wines and answering your questions about them. Join us!
