Fall Staff Picks

Fall is setting in, the days are getting shorter, Halloween decor is starting to appear, and lots of new wines and new vintages are showing up! At Wardman Wines, we work hard to curate a wide selection of wines to appeal to a broad range of palates, and we really enjoy exploring the enormous variety the world of wine has to offer. However we all have those bottles that we go back to when it's just for us. This week, the staff at Wardman are sharing their favorites for the Fall. Join us Wednesday, October 7 from 4pm-7pm to taste these wines:

Eric's Pick:

  • Arterberry Maresh Dundee Hills Pinot Noir: "While we may not yet be in the height of the Season of Plenty, there is no reason to wait until Thanksgiving to dive into ally good Pinot Noir. This is one of my favorite bottles in the store and I can't help myself but to open one every once in a while."

Nick's Pick:

  • Landhaus Meyer Gruner Veltliner: "Nick visited Vienna last year for the first time but let the beer lover in him forget Austria's amazing wine selection. This was the first bottle he bought when working at Wardman's; it's the perfect level of crisp with a little white pepper spice. A favorite to pair with anything chicken. Preferably schnitzeled.

Lyndon's Pick:

  • Domaine des Hauts Châssis Crozes-Hermitage Les Galets: "As we’re moving into the season of cooler temperatures, dinner party invitations, and nights of just wanting to cuddle up with an unctuous glass of wine, I love recommending French reds from the Rhone Valley for their versatility and friendliness."

Julia's Pick:

  • El Enemigo Chardonnay: "Not too oaky, not too buttery, but refined and quite reminiscent of a Sonoma Chardonnay, except out of Argentina."

Shawn's Pick:

  • Ameztoi Getariako Txakolina: "A favorite of both me and my mom! This is a bright, crisp white with pleasant salinity and citrus notes. Equally at home by the beach in summer as by a campfire in the fall."

Rob's Pick:

  • Kelleri-Cantina Andrian Rubeno Lagrein: "This is a beautiful wine that mixes simplicity, depth, and elegance. Fresh, dark fruits that maintain an earthy aroma and character through to a delightful finish. Great wine for a fall feast."

Tickets for our Wednesday tastings are $10, and the wines are 10%-off during the tasting.
