Bonfire Wines

It's finally cool enough to haul out the fire pit! Now what are you going to drink while you enjoy the blaze? We have some suggestions (you knew we would)!

There are a lot of directions you could go when selecting a wine for fireside sipping, but in general, we tend to lean into wines that are a bit richer, spicier, and/or smokier, because they tend to match the mood and the weather pretty well

So for this week, a Pinot Grigio Ramato and a Georgian amber blend bring a bit of weight and spice for the white wine drinkers, while a red blend from South Africa and a northern Italian Lagrein provide ripe fruit with a smoky edge. A Malbec-based blend from Argentina brings richness and spice, and a dry rancio from Catalonia supplies notes of earth, nuts, and dried fruit.

Finally, because hanging around the firepit is a very pandemic-friendly social activity, you may want to get enough wine to share with a group. For that, may we suggest a magnum? Because we do.
