Fall Six-Pack 2022

The Autumnal Equinox has passed, so it's officially Fall, dammit! And while the days can still be quite warm, there's definitely starting to be a chill in the air in the evenings. This may be our favorite time of year at Wardman, because rich red wines are becoming fashionable again, but light, pretty white wines still delight the palate, and rosé has its swansong. So of course, we thought we'd put together another six-pack to celebrate this versatility. We taste through hundreds of wines and pick our favorites to highlight and share with you, and we've picked six that we think reflect the spirit of the season.

This time of year, aromatic whites really start to hit the palate in just that right kind of way. We've doubled up on them this year, with a delightful blend from Upstate New York and a Chard/Viognier that is elegance in simplicity. Then, with a nod toward the cooling temps, we've also brought in a great Amber Blend from Spain. On the red side, Côtes-du Rhône is always a winner for drinkability and versatility, and this one will not disappoint. You may never have heard of Negroamaro before (or, like me, thought it was an angry punk band) but this Italian red walks the lines between juicy, fruity, grippy, and complex. And who doesn't like an Australian Cabernet, especially one with a sense of balance and great glassware on the label?

Okay, rhetorical questions and glib chatter aside, we are pretty proud of this Six Pack, and think you will enjoy what we have put together. Join us on Friday, September 30 from 4-6PM when we will have these bottles open on the bar!
