Spring is on its way! We think! Maybe? After a warm winter, the forecasters now seem to be promising a chilly spring. Because of course. Whatever the weather, the days are getting longer, and it will warm up eventually, which means it's time for a new six-pack! To match the turbulent climate, we've picked six stylistically varied wines to suit the situation. Whether it's porch weather or sweater weather, these are wines for social sipping and snacking.
We lead off with a fresh and delicate rosé Prosecco that will play well with a cheese plate or chacuterie board. A crisp and concentrated Pecorino is refreshing enough to stand on its own but can stand up to sturdier fish dishes, while a Sauvignon Blanc/Mauzac blend from South West France is a lively, easy-drinking aperitif. A Syrah-based Rosado from Castilla has enough richness and heft to be the main act at the dinner table, and a blend of Rhône varietals from South Africa is rich, textured, and complex, perfect for a chilly afternoon. Finally, a blend of Graciano and Cabernet Sauvignon from Spain is a ripe and generous all-occasion red.
The Spring Six-Pack goes on sale on Thursday, March 2, and we'll be pouring the wines on the tasting bar on Friday, March 3 from 4pm to 7pm. Join us!
